Project Teams
Membership and Services
The purpose of the Membership and Services committee is to help further the growth and membership base of STF by continuously increasing membership value, programs and services.
Responsibilities:
- Educate businesses about membership benefits
- Coordinate membership drives and new member events
- Man check in tables at SFT events
- Provide membership material at STF events
- Help to make new members feel welcome
- Create and manage a new member “spotlight” program (in conjunction with the PR and Marketing committee)
- Develop and manage a member to member discount program
- Define and introduce new member services that make membership more valuable
Events
The purpose of the Events committee is to plan and deliver events and other opportunities that “accelerate our technology economy” in Sarasota and Manatee counties. These events provide informational, educational and networking opportunities for members and future members.
Responsibilities:
- Determine type and subject matter for all events
- Scout locations/venues for events
- Handle all event setup and tear down
- Negotiate rental and catering agreements
- Write all post-event coverage for newsletter and website
- Secure speakers and presentation panels
- Write all post-event articles covering the event
- Secure bio’s and photos for event promotions and the website
Public Relations and Marketing
The purpose of the PR and Marketing Committee is to accurately communicate changes, news, meetings and the value that STF brings to the bi-county community.
Responsibilities
- Update and improve content on the STF web site
- Create and / or update marketing materials and collateral
- Create and distribute press releases concerning STF news and events
- Seize opportunities for STF to gain additional exposure
- Create a member handbook and keep it updated
- Create and keep current a New Member welcome package and other STF marketing materials
Community Initiatives
The purpose of the Community Initiatives committee is to contribute to the advancement or delivery of technology-based initiatives that improve the lifestyle of the community.
Responsibilities:
- To initiate new technology-based programs that enhance the bi-county community
- To seek out emerging or existing community initiatives and contribute financial, human, or other tangible resources to them.
Education
Link with the education community in the bi-county area.
The purpose of the Education Committee is to create and foster relationship with the secondary and higher education community and the technology students therein.
Responsibilities:
- Establish an Education – STF working committee to ensure a close alliance
- Plan, deliver and maintain education programs and initiatives such as scholarships, mentoring, internships, career fairs etc.
Web Site/Information Portal
The purpose of the Web Site/Information Portal committee is to continuously improve the STF web site as an effective, friendly information resource, interactive communications venue and functional business tool.
Responsibilities:
- Create an effective web site structure (look and feel) for user friendliness and ease of navigation
- Keep content fresh, understandable and valuable
- Evolve the functionality of the web site to minimize manual intervention and improve member and visitor convenience
- Provide STF management with relevant business reports on membership, events and other activities.
- Continuously deploy improvements to the web site in areas of look, feel, friendliness and functionality.
